Google play impact on mobile SEO

Google just launched Google Play. This is another tab at the top of Google’s HomePage and whilst it is billed as being for Android AND the web it is really all about pushing Android mobile from a Universal Search perspective.

I can see people searching for, let’s say, ‘improve my fitness’ on their Android powered device and being confronted with more mobile friendly sites about fitness, digital versions of fitness books, ‘Now that’s what I call running’ styley compilations, ‘Chariots of Fire’ styley videos and fitness apps at the top of the Universal Search results.

Thereafter it’s only a matter of time before we see Universal Search revolutionised on mobile platforms and then my tip is for a unique mobile SEO algorithm to hit is 2013.
